Tech-Spired Professional Development

In today’s ever-changing educational landscape, it’s crucial for teachers to keep up with new trends and technologies. This feels impossible at times, and I tend to think of the phrase of IYKYK (if you know you know), but truly I feel like the more I explore the less I feel like I know. As a teacher committed to growth, I’ve continued to research and implement new platforms as a way to stay current, and offer my students the most meaningful learning experience possible. I have also had the opportunity to attend and present in Atlantic City at Techspo five times, sharing ideas with fellow educators, administrators, and technology enthusiasts. Presentations have covered a broad range of topics From discovering new tech tools to updating project-based learning, and from offering choices in tech-friendly classrooms to reaching all types of learners, my journey has been about learning and evolving. In 2024, I presented with two colleagues on how AI can enhance tiered instruction, adding a new dimension to my teaching.

2017– Techy Tools,

2018-Revamping PBL’s,

2019– Choice in a High-Tech Classroom,

2023-Reaching Divergent Learners,

2024-Harnessing AI for Tiered Instruction

I’m excited to share some of the amazing things I’ve learned from colleagues. Education is always changing, and by using AI and tech, we can create more engaging and personalized learning experiences. Join me as we explore how educators are using AI and technology to transform teaching and learning.

Two years in a row the best presentations I attended were offered by, or inspired off of the work the Technology Team is doing based out of the Central Jersey Hamilton Township School District. Both conferences, I have walked away excited to share and create based upon what they are doing with their students and teachers. Last year I sat in on how they Build Student Capacity Through a Technology Internship Program-so cool! They have created an entire program aligned to both the 2020 Computer Science Standards and the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders 2015 (PSEL).

Two Technology Facilitators out of Rahway School district presented on ways to infuse themselves and new technological practices into elementary and middle school teachers. The coolest thing they shared was how they implemented an Engagement Challenge, district-wide, encouraging educators to participate in an effort to use technology with rewards and reinforcement. This inspired me to create a similar design, but instead using AI platforms:
